Über mich und Hill Mill Records

Ich heisse Marcello Gründer von Hill Mill Records und bekannt unter dem Künstlernamen Cello Inferno. Als ich  die Produktion meiner aktuellen Platte "The Night of the Bloodmoon" plante, stand ich vor der Frage, unter welchem Label ich sie veröffentlichen sollte. Schliesslich braucht jede Platte ein Zuhause. Als ich mich dem Frust ausetzte, mich bei unzähligen Labels zu bewerben um Ablehnung zu erfahren, kam mir die Idee: " Warum nicht mein eigenes Label gründen? Frei nach dem Motto " Was die können, kann ich mindestens genauso gut" Dann beschloss ich, meine jahrelange Erfahrung und meine vorhandenen Kontakte zu nutzen und mein eigenes Label ins Leben zu rufen.
So entstand die Idee von Hill Mill Records. Doch warum ausgerechnet eine Windmühle auf einem Hügel als Logo. Dieses Symbol hat eine tiefe Bedeutung für mich. Mein Proberaum der mittlerweile eher ein Projektstudio ist, thront über dem malerischen Rotsee auf einem sanften Hügel im legendären und besten Musikzentrum der Welt, nämlich ist das der Sedel in Luzern. Der Sedel, das bereits fast zwei Jahrhunderte majestätisch über dem Rotsee wacht, hat eine reiche Geschichte, die unter anderem eine Zeitlang als Strafanstalt genutzt wurde. In den 80er Jahren haben es Luzerner Musikschaffende übernommen und als Musikzentrum mit Club und fast 100 Probelokale umgenutzt.
Die Windmühle symbolisiert die leidenschaftliche Arbeit in meinem Projektstudio, sowie die ländliche Atmosphäre um den Sedel herum🌱. Manchmal riecht es auch stark nach Kuhmist in der Umgebung😁. Gleichzeitig verleiht sie auch ein Hauch von Nostalgie, der perfekt zu meiner Musik und meinen musikalischen Vorlieben passt. Wer meine Musik kennt, wird unschwer erkennen, dass sie von handgemachten Genres wie Folk, Blues, Rythm & Blues und Rock & Roll alter Tage durchdrungen und inspiriert ist.

My name is Marcello, founder of Hill Mill Records and known under the artist name Cello Inferno. When I was planning the production of my current record “The Night of the Bloodmoon”, I was faced with the question of which label I should release it under. After all, every record needs a home. When I faced the frustration of applying to countless labels and being rejected, I had the idea: “Why not start my own label? I can do at least as well as they can”. Then I decided to use my years of experience and my existing contacts to set up my own label.
That's how the idea of Hill Mill Records came about. But why a windmill on a hill as a logo? This symbol has a deep meaning for me. My rehearsal room, which is now more of a project studio, is enthroned above the picturesque Rotsee on a gentle hill in the legendary and best music center in the world, namely the Sedel in Lucerne. The Sedel, which has stood majestically over the Rotsee for almost two centuries, has a rich history, including being used as a penal institution for a time. In the 1980s, Lucerne musicians took it over and converted it into a music center with a club and almost 100 rehearsal rooms.
The windmill symbolizes the passionate work in my project studio, as well as the rural atmosphere around the Sedel🌱. Sometimes it also smells strongly of cow dung in the area😁. At the same time, it also lends a touch of nostalgia that fits perfectly with my music and my musical preferences. Anyone who knows my music will easily recognize that it is steeped in and inspired by handmade genres such as folk, blues, rhythm & blues and rock & roll of old.
